21st – 25th march

Standard

Monday , In the morning me and Em got up nice and early and headed into uni for nine. I was working on my rushes presentation , Emma was scanning images in for her rushes presentation , I then put her images into story board pro and exported them for her her into an animatic /  movie type thing

Tuesday , I was kind of experimenting with animating shocked expressions

, unfortunately my plan did not work , I planned to pixilate my self using a remote I have for my camera and then to stick my hair static with hair glue unforunatley my hair is a bit long to get the effect I was looking for plus the actual animation wasn’t great ether, so the experiment was a bit of a flop but it was fun trying.

wednesday was a Barry day and , It was really good , I did my first bit of animation for him I and I animated part of my digestive music machiene , and I was really pleased with the outcome the next step is to work out my dope sheet and animate to the music which will be really exciting.

Thursday morning I did some general repairs and improving on some of my replacements as they tend to get a bittle battered during animating. I also fixed up poor scrappy the duck, who had had his legs broken, but all is well scrappy was fixed and ready to be eaten by a crocodile in the afternoon. which is when I animaed my 3rd scene of a duck feeder feeding ducks – aka just the one duck scrappy and then both the feeder and the duck gets eaten.

Friday , I had to work at mr Jessops in the morning , but in the afternoon I met up with one of my assistants Kyle and we animated the first scene where he gets eaten , he then animated baby croc for me.

so last week was fairly productive, animating wise could of gone a bit better as both the croc animations will have to be reshot due tp extreamly sunny days causing a strobing effect light wise , however thurs and fri of these week acording to the weather should be nice and cloudy which makes nice animating conditions the plus side was apart from the stobing effect the animation came oout well and proved good practise!! heres hoping for another good week! 😀

experiment today

Standard

Today is going to be pretty cool , I am going to attempt to animate my hair standing on end. I plan to sit on a stool with a green back ground – so i can green screen my self else where, take some frames of me normal looking and then I have bought some hair glue which i plan to use to spike my hair so it looks static – you will of coarse be updated with pictures

14th -18th march

Monday as per usual was our rushes day , which means as I work at the weekends I usually end up putting my rushes together monday morning before showing them in the afternoon, Rushes went well though and everyone really liked my animatic ( well i hope thats what the laughter ment anyway)

Tuesday I went animating YIPEE!  I both animated and took some live action shots of a friend of mine playing her guitar and then getting eaten by a crocodile. I then animated my crocodiles – well one of my crocodiles eating blooded ( ketchuped ) jeans , and also a little cycle of my crocodile bobing up and down in the pavement which looked pretty cool.

Wednesday was Barry day so I spent the day working on a instrumental digestive system

Thursday , I went back to the sound studio with some of my house mate emma and some of my  assistants , Elodie , Oliver and Kyle and we recorded Elodie singing never smile accompanied by oliver on the keyboard. kyle bought along his squeeky duck and pig and we also recorded a version of them in the back ground joining in with the song. In the afternoon I went and edited down the recordings we had made and out of about 6 or 7 recordings of the song whittled it down to about 3 depending on how long my final animation is. about 5 ish my friend Lianne came over and i also animated her being eaten by a crocodile which was very good. Lianne Allen is very good at being eaten by a crocodile. Emma also helped me animate my replacements.

Friday i had to work this week but i have now asked for fridays off so after next week i shouldn’t have to go to work on a friday which will make it alot better for filming as most of my assistants are free on a friday.

28th feb – 4th march

Standard

wow so these past two weeks since my last post have just flown past, it is crazy how fast 3rd year is going . Weeks seem to be going past like days its nuts! so as the title of this post suggests I am going to attempt to tell you what I did on each day of the week from the 28th feb – to 4th march with of course all important pictures.

So on Monday 28th, we had Barry Purves in again , and I discussed the building of my grammaphone digestive system with him , and then went off and bought some materials and objects in which to build

The rest of the week ( tues – fri ) I pretty much just got on with making lots of replacements and crocodile parts below are some pictures of the start of the back of the crocodile back replacements , I also attached the crocs lower jaws to the upper jaws with hinges so I could get a nice clean animatable open to the mouths of the crocs. plus screwed a foam board base to the styrofoam

Thursday morning I booked out the sound studio , this initially was to record the soundtrack for my animation but unfortunately my sound artist / singer person was unable to make it due to illness. It wasn’t a waste of time as some of my other second years Kyle , Chloe and Linda came and we practised setting up the sound studio and then recorded some general screams which was fun and a good refresh of knowledge.
